Be a Youth Community Builder

Youth community building is a practice that encourages civic participation, social connection, and voluntary engagement among youth. It builds trust, social capital, and safe, welcoming environments. Youth community builders help young people lead initiatives, co-create projects, and become active civic actors.

 Youth community building is voluntary and relationship-based. Practitioners are trusted adults across youth spaces, outreach programmes, community settings, and volunteer organisations, creating low-barrier environments for youth to build relationships and explore their place in the world.

We are collaborating with SUSS on a framework that guides the development of youth engagement and community building capabilities and a subsequent series of professional development programmes in 2027 for the people who are supporting youths.
