Own Your Somerset Belt

Somerset Belt is proof that the Government is committed to giving youth authority over spaces — this is your space, shaped by you and built for you.

NYC have set up the Somerset Belt Youth CoLab to empower a team of 15 youths to take ownership of Somerset Belt’s programming and activities, and create the vibes that define the precinct.

The Somerset Belt Youth CoLab will: 

Co-create programmes and curate spaces that meet the interests and needs of their peers.

Nurture meaningful connections across different youth communities through collaborative leadership and shared experiences.

Build confidence and ownership through taking on the responsibility of the management of spaces, activities, and budgets.

Create community impact through hands-on involvement in shaping spaces and activities.
